Death
On August 29, 1995, Colin was diagnosed with lung cancer and died thirteen days later on September 11 at the age of 53. His roommate Sarah would die two months later on November 10 at the same age from a heart attack.

On September 19, 1995, his funeral was held at Wee Kirk O' The Heather Church in Glendale, California.
Cremation/burial
Colin was cremated and his ashes were interred in the Columbarium of Memory in the Hall of Memory in the Evergreen Terrace section of the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
